Karoline Leavitt, the official mouthpiece of Trump’s Project 2025 administration, is just 27 years old—one of the youngest MAGA figureheads in Trump 2.0. But don’t mistake youth for inexperience. Leavitt has mastered one skill: propaganda. Every day, she delivers blatant lies with the icy confidence of a sociopath, effortlessly shaping the reality MAGA loyalists want to believe.
So, who is this Propaganda Barbie?
Here are ten facts about Trump’s favorite press secretary.
She is from New Hampshire.
Born on August 24, 1997, in Atkinson, New Hampshire, Leavitt was raised in a Roman Catholic family. Her parents owned an ice cream shop and a used truck dealership. She graduated from Central Catholic High School in Lawrence, Massachusetts, in 2015.
She graduated college in 2019.
In 2015, Leavitt attended Saint Anselm College, a private liberal arts college in New Hampshire. She played NCAA Division II softball (here’s a picture) and founded the school’s first broadcasting club. Otherwise, she was an unremarkable student and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in communications in 2019.

She interned at Fox News.
Leavitt’s professional journey began with internships at Fox News and WMUR-TV during her college years. After graduation, she served as a presidential writer and assistant press secretary during President Donald Trump’s first administration.
She ran for Congress and lost.
In 2022, Leavitt ran for the U.S. House of Representatives in New Hampshire’s 1st district. While she managed to secure the Republican nomination, she lost in the general election. Thankfully, incumbent Democrat Chris Pappas maintained his seat.

She is married to a 59-year-old real estate developer.
Leavitt is married to Nicholas Riccio, a real estate developer who is 32 years old her senior. Their engagement was announced in December 2023, and they were married in a private ceremony, whenever.
She was press secretary for the Trump 2.0 campaign.
Leavitt served as the national press secretary for his 2024 presidential campaign. During an August 2024 interview, she stated, “Project 2025 has nothing to do with our campaign.” Turns out, it she lied.
Despite her attempt to distance herself and the campaign from Project 2025, Leavitt knew all about the conservation plan. In fact, she help create training videos for Project 2025 and the Heritage Foundation’s “Conservative Governance” 101 training program. In the video, she discussed her experiences working in the Trump White House during his first term and offered guidance to potential future members of a conservative administration.
She ended maternity leave early for Trump.
The couple welcomed their son on July 10, 2024. Leavitt planned to take maternity leave but was inspired to action after Trump’s assassination attempt on July 13, 2024, in Pennsylvania. Dramatically, she returned to work four days after, cutting her maternity leave short in service of MAGA.
She is the youngest press secretary.
On November 15, 2024, President-elect Trump announced Leavitt as his White House press secretary. She assumed office on January 20, 2025, at 27, making her the youngest person to hold this position.
She cut press access to almost everyone.
In her inaugural press briefing on January 28, 2025, Leavitt announced plans to revitalize the press pool and revoke press credentials from “woke” news outlets. While positing the idea of uplifting “ new media voices, behind the scenes she loaded the pool with alt-right news networks and kicked out traditional media outlets.
Notably, the Associated Press was barred from an Oval Office event after refusing to adopt the administration’s renaming of the Gulf of Mexico to the “Gulf of America.”
She is very obsessed with transgender people.
Wasting no time, Leavitt took care of unimportant issues first. In the first press briefing of the Trump 2.0 administration, she announced an executive order to declare there are only two genders. This move effectively eliminates federal recognition of transgender and nonbinary individuals, which is a win for MAGA’s culture war. Leavitt described the policy as restoring “sanity” in the face of “wokeness,” which received wide criticism from LGBTQ+ advocates and well-adjusted people.

Karoline Leavitt is the face of Trump 2.0’s propaganda machine, delivering bold lies with chilling confidence. The young White House Press Secretary is fiercely loyal to MAGA, and not ashamed to speak the fascist parts out loud. She might seem incompetent on the outside, but under the Catholic schoolgirl attire is a counterintelligence expert.
